The industry benefited throughout Covid-19, but Art highlighted that it’s important to consider how the sector will be impacted as we return to normal circumstances. “We still don’t know how the sector will perform when things go back to normal,” he said. “But even before Covid-19, the so-called ‘humanization’ of pets was a growing secular change. The question is, with Covid-19 receding, where does that leave the industry?”
