Responsible Investing

PennantPark evaluates Responsible Investing (“RI”) factors before making an investment. We believe that sound RI management can help manage business risks and enhance the value of our portfolio investments. Our evaluation includes but is not limited to:

• Analyzing RI factors from a sector-wide perspective along with company-specific considerations.
• Evaluating the societal and environmental impact of the target portfolio company. We examine the company’s specific products or services, as well as their business practices.
• Encouraging our portfolio companies to adopt an RI approach, monitor potential risks, and promote transparency.
• Conducting ongoing diligence and monitoring throughout the course of our investment.

PennantPark has also partnered with industry-leading organizations to further our RI efforts. We have committed to adopting and implementing the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, and became a signatory of the PRI in 2021. In addition, PennantPark is a signatory to the ILPA Diversity in Action initiative.
